This past weekend Powerplay DJ had the opportunity to perform at the wedding reception of Sarah Estep and Nick Larson. One unique thing about this wedding was the fact that two of our top DJs, Andy and Aaron, had the chance to take out our new turntable setup. Using their talents and techniques on the turntables they had the dance floor packed the entire night. Our turntable setup will turn your ordinary dance into a full on performance and show that will keep your guests dancing all night long. So if you are looking to take your dance to the next level and give your guests a night they will never forget don’t hesitate to ask about this exciting new set up!
Spring is here and the sun is shining. For those of us here at Powerplay DJ that means we are prepping for all of the exciting events that are coming up in months to come. From proms to graduation parties to weddings, we are excited for every event we have! Many of these events have taken advantage of the additional services that we offer. Our standard show is great but these additional services can really bring your dance to the next level. Don’t forget to check them out here, additional services, so you can have your guests talking about your event for years to come!
Powerplay DJ had the chance to entertain many young trick or treaters this Halloween. The Fargo Jaycees held their annual Community Halloween event at the Scheels Arena (formerly the Urban Plains Center) for children of all ages to trick or treat at. There were blow up games, a maze made out of straw bales, many fun games the kids could win candy at, and of course great music from Powerplay DJ. The attendees also had the chance to donate to the food shelf and help out the community. We here at Powerplay DJ believe that this event is such a great way to help out the community by providing a safe and fun environment for kids to trick or treat on Halloween. Great job again to the Jaycees, the West Fargo JROTC, and the many other volunteers who helped out with this event!

Powerplay DJ has had the chance to perform for over 10 high school homecoming dances this fall. We had a great time performing for some of the best shows that we have seen in a long time! Every school danced the night away and rocked our socks off with some amazing dance offs, break dancing, and dance circles. Needless to say these high school students really knew how to have a great time and we look forward to many more homecoming dances like these in the future. We hope to see you all at your proms next spring!
On Friday June 24, 2011 Powerplay DJ had the chance to provide our services for American Cancer Society Relay For Life in Fargo, ND. We played music and karaoke throughout the evening and were astounded by the amount of support that was given to cancer survivors everywhere by all of the participants. Relay for Life is an overnight event that celebrates cancer survivors and helps raise money for the American Cancer Society. With over 240 participants and 38 teams they were able to raise $60,659.75 for research and programs for the American Cancer Society. A big thanks from Powerplay DJ to all of the participants and survivors who were able to help support this noble cause!

This past weekend Powerplay DJ had the chance to support the Fargo Marathon participants, over 22,000, by performing in the 2011 Bands on the Run. We were located at mile 18 of the marathon on the front lawn of Mary Noel and Ross Zink’s home, who are pictured to the right dancing. We kept the music rocking all morning and into the afternoon as the runners made their way into the last quarter of the marathon. Everyone seemed to have a great time and were more than happy to help support the 2,211 runners who participated in the full marathon in their effort to complete the 26.2 miles. We would like to thank Mary and Ross for being gracious hosts and also for allowing us to join them in cheering on the runners. Congratulations to all of the participants and great job!

Powerplay DJ recently had the chance to collaborate with FPN Gaming for a Casino Night held by Thrivent Financial. The set up included multiple gaming tables, including Texas Hold ‘Em, Black Jack, Roulette, and Craps, as well as karaoke provided by Powerplay DJ. With a chance to win multiple prizes provided by Thrivent Financial the players had a blast trying to accumulate as many chips as they could for more chances to win a prize. For many it was a learning experience but with the help of the professional dealers all of the players seemed to grasp the games very well and have fun in the process. Karaoke was also a big hit with a long line of singers ready to sing their favorite songs and many people dancing the night away on the dance floor. With this Casino Night being such a great success I would recommend a Casino Night for your next company party, after prom party, or after graduation party!

This past fall, Powerplay DJ had the chance to rock the socks off of Minnesota State University Moorhead’s (MSUM) incoming and currently enrolled students. The first event we performed at was the freshman orientation black light dance that was put on by the Student Orientation Counselors of MSUM. This dance was held for the incoming freshman during their orientation week before the start of the fall semester. The dance had one of the best turn outs they have seen in many years. With over 1,000 students showing up to dance the night away. Having been a Student Orientation Counselor myself for three years I was quite blown away by the turn out and I was honored to be able to DJ this event. The second event that we performed at was MSUM black light Halloween dance at one of the Dragons After Dark events. It was held in the Comstock Memorial Union and we blew the roof off of the place. We set up a dual system that included four BOSE speakers, four BOSE sub woofers, our giant screen and projector for music videos, and black lights surrounding the dance floor. The turn out for this dance was astounding with 575 people signing up for the costume contest alone. Both of these events had great turn outs and were a great way for the students of MSUM to have an amazing time in a safe and friendly environment. We are honored that we were asked to provide the entertainment for both and hope to be able to have more great dances like these in the future.
